East of the Oberasbacher districts Altenberg and Unterasbach is the nature reserve Hainberg, with the largest contiguous sandy dry grassland in northern Bavaria.

Through the terrain flows the Kreuzbach, which forms a pear-shaped in the middle of the pond. This small stream is also called Asbach (from which the place name derives) and is located exclusively on Oberasbacher municipality.
