This description (as of 05/2018) concerns the Mayan ruins of Uxmal, Kabah, Xlapak and Labna along the Ruta Puuc. Along this route you will find more Maja ruins, cenotes and sights in the surrounding towns and villages. During our visit, we focused only on these four places, because the facilities alone are already quite large and the heat is quite annoying. From Merida you have the free choice in which direction you want to start the round. We hit Uxmal early in the morning. From Merida you drive about 85 km (Mex 180/261) in a southerly direction. Is not overcrowded like Chichen Itza and less marketed. Ruins are cordoned off so nobody can scramble on them and you can take great photos without a lot of people on them.
