The new Hundheim gate tower was probably built in the second half of the 15th century after the castle had been incorporated into the town.
The dominant gate structure is rectangular in plan and has four floors. The top floor is built in the half-timbered style and has a small, pretty bay window in the north-east view. The mansard roof hood is made of slate and complements the building beautifully.
In addition, the gate has a round arch on the city side and a pointed arch on the outside. The loopholes in the quarry stone facade still tell the history of the city.

Immediately southeast is the Old Hundheimer Torturm, which has the same floor plan as its neighbor but is slightly smaller than the newer building. The layered masonry is crossed by half-timbered beams on the city side and the half-hipped roof is covered with plain tile.

Together, the two towers form a rare and imposing twin ensemble on the south-west corner of Röttingen.
