The rectangular tower has four floors with a crenellated porch, the extremely pointed archway shows the year of the conversion, 1532. In the arched passage there are still remains of baroque ceiling paintings depicting the "Assumption of Mary".
The sculpture in its niche is "Christ at the Hostage Column".
"Mähn-Tor" ordered the coachmen to lead their horses downhill (= French "mene").

Nabburg's old town is accessible by car only at two points: the Upper Gate and the Mähntor (Mahn Gate) to the south. The latter, with its crenellated, coat-of-arms-adorned portico and four-story rectangular tower, is one of the town's medieval landmarks. Only those passing through can see the remains of the ceiling frescoes depicting the Assumption of Mary and the Baroque niche figure of Christ at the Flagellation Column. The name "Mähntor," derived from the French "mener" meaning "to lead," is essentially a traffic regulation, as coachmen were not allowed to drive their vehicles through from the driver's seat but had to dismount due to the steep incline. Around 1900, the increasing traffic necessitated the construction of another gate in the town wall, just as it did at the Upper Gate.
