The industrial mansion of the Zanders papermaking family was built as a town house from 1873 to 1874 in the style of the French Renaissance. It was originally in the middle of a park, of which only the remains have survived. The Zanders family used to live here.
In 1932 the property became the property of the old Rheinisch-Bergisch district and later that of the city of Bergisch Gladbach. For a long time, this served as the administrative headquarters of both authorities.
