    The windmill in Scharrel is also called Hanekamps windmill and was built in 1870. It is a three-storey gallery Dutch windmill with codend, sail wings and three grindings - two of which are still operational today. In the mill and the adjoining Wagenremise there is a mill and local history museum. You can also marry in the mill.

    The gallery Dutch windmill, built in 1870, was completely renovated in 2002 and partially renovated in 2016. It is still fully operational. The entire wooden construction has remained unchanged since 1870. Numerous old agricultural tools are on display inside the mill. There is a museum in the immediate vicinity of the mill. Visitors can visit the mill by appointment.

    From May to September, the mill is open on the first and third Sunday of every month from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Members of the mill association offer coffee and homemade cakes in the museum on these days.
