The potash heap in Sehnder's core town is part of the Friedrichshall potash mine, where potash was mined and processed into fertilizer until 1982. The mountain, with a footprint of around 30,000 square meters, consists of 19 million tons of unused overburden. Since 1997, the operator K+S has covered the mountain with recycled rubble and earth and greened it.
