If you stand down in front of the dam, you have to look more closely, where the entrance to the "Kraxelweg" (officially called "Bergweg") is; also the path itself and the steps are [at least in snow] only with a little imagination to recognize (many metal supports are still there, but the wood of the steps is missing ... but there are still enough stones and roots that are natural Serve stages). It would be good if you have your hands free - and you better walk the slope from bottom to top;)

Nevertheless: Thanks to the signage (hiking symbols on the trees at the entrance below the dam and arrows along the Kraxelweg) he is considered an official trail - and fun! Not too strenuous, not to 0-8-15 ... and also very good with climbing four-legged doable.

Thanks to the rock formation "Höllengrundspitze" there's still a bit of sandstone feeling in the Erzgebirge on top :)

But then the climbing path up with detours on the rocks already had an alpine character and is to be walked with caution and caution. Inexperienced and sandal wearers should be cautious here. Somebody used scrap iron on one of the rocks and stole the ladder .... ??? But there is a fine line that leads to the top point. Surefootedness and the recommendation before should be observed, but it is worth going this way.

The path is already quite steep and rocky (at least at the bottom). You have to be sure-footed and wear sturdy shoes. We hiked it from bottom to top - I would recommend others to do the same. The hiking sticks were a good support for us on this way. Since the bottom of the ladder was missing on the rocks, I'm not high on the rocks. That was a bit too risky for me with a backpack. But the rocks are worth seeing. If you just want to make a small detour to the rocks, you can do it from above and then go back up. That's easier. In snow and ice, I would definitely advise against this route.
At the top the path/path was quite overgrown.
