The path to the hut is not very demanding and can be classified as “easy” compared to other SAC huts. Nevertheless, hiking in alpine terrain requires good fitness, serious preparation and technical knowledge of mountain sports.
From Russign, the climb takes just under 3 hours and you have to enjoy every single moment here, because sleeping in the Lavill hut will give you the feeling of having your own mountain hut.
The hut is unattended, but you have everything you need to cook, drink, shower, beds and tables. You only need to bring your food, sleeping bag, toothbrush and your personal belongings with you.
From the Lavill hut there are some beautiful hikes, to the Cima del Simano (a mountain path), to the other unguarded hut Prou or the high mountain path in Valle Malvaglia.
