    The watermill, built in 1748, is located right in the center of the municipality of Ladbergen and the old mill wheel is still turning. The old village mill was in operation until the mid-1950s.       The watermill, built in 1748, is located directly in the center of the municipality of Ladbergen and consists of a smaller part on the south side and a larger part, built later, on the north side of the mill stream. The smaller, southern part of the mill, also called the old "Lütke" or Frenking mill, dates back to 1748 and was built at that time as a Prussian tax mill. It was therefore the property of the Prussian state at the time of Frederick II, which explains the letters FR (Friedericus Rex) carved next to the year. The half-timbered building served as a grinding mill until the turn of the century and then as a wheelwright's shop. Today the southern part houses a restaurant.
      The newer, northern part of the mill was built in 1890 in place of its demolished predecessor and was equipped with a turbine drive that was new at the time.
      The old village mill was in operation until the mid-1950s. After a thorough renovation in 1969, the building has served as a restaurant and, more recently, as a wedding venue.
