Location and history: The Tapachtal green area belongs to the Stuttgart-Rot district and is located on a hill rising to the south and extends up to an altitude of 325 m. From the upper part of the green area you have a wonderful all-round view over the Neckar valley with the Max-Eyth-See over Ludwigsburg up to the Löwenstein mountains in the north.
In earlier times there was a quarry and was used as a shooting range in the Kingdom of Württemberg even before the Second World War.
After the end of the war, the site was filled with over two and a half million cubic meters of rubble in the 1950s. Today's topography was created.
In 1962 an allotment garden association was founded under the name "Local Association Tapach". The allotment garden was secured by building law in 1966 as a permanent allotment garden and completed in 1971.
As part of the Socially Integrative City funding program, spacious play and lounge areas have been created in the Tapach Valley for young people. The areas in the Tapach Valley have been reorganized, and the juxtaposition of different uses follows the rules that were drawn up with public participation. On the edge of the extensive facility, a dog exercise area with play facilities was planned and built together with dog owners.
