The district court building consists of three connected building parts and is a listed building. After its construction, court sessions were no longer allowed in the private houses of the judges The upper floor of the building was raised under Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig von Oldenburg in 1827. An annex was added to the east side of the building in 1884. The oldest part of today's district court is in the western part of the building former "Marstall", which was built around 1620 and originally served as a "ball house" for ball games, a kind of tennis. Before the fundamental renovation of the buildings in the years 1993 to 1997 it was used as an office and storage room as well as in an extension as The rear part of the "Marstall" was demolished in 1882. In the course of the renovation work, this part of the building äudes was completely rebuilt in 1997 and today includes several meeting rooms and the land registry on the ground floor.
