    ELZACH. The legendary Braunhörnle, which forms the southern end of the Yacht Valley, has been crowned by a nine-meter-high summit cross for 75 years. Not far from there, the Schonach-Rohrhardsberg hiking and pilgrimage route leads to the chapel on the Hörnleberg.

    The place at the Braunhörnle-Kreuz has become a popular vantage point and resting place. A wonderful view over the Yachtal, on the heights and valleys of the homeland, compensates the hiker for the ascent. As the summit book stored there for decades reports, people come by from near and far at any time of the year. Everyone is happy about this wonderful piece of earth, far above the bustle of the valleys, lifted out of "gray city walls" and for some it is their favorite place.
