The ponds have been part of the spa park from the very beginning. It was built between 1968 and 1974 in the southern part of the city and slowly rises up to connect the town with the adjacent forest on Poppenberg. The Möhne spring is just under 1 km above the ponds. The Möhne, still a stream-like river, flows through the spa park from south to north. The ponds are therefore the first small "Möhneseen".😀

In 2015, the ponds in the spa park were redesigned for €810,000. Steps now lead down to the lake, which can be used wonderfully as seating in summer. There are also several benches, some of which are covered, near the shore.
