The Buchwaldhütte, a lodge belonging to the Theisbergstegen-Godelhausen chapter of the Palatinate Forest Association, was built between 1976 and 1978 and expanded in the following years. The youth room was opened in 1994.

The lodge offers space for 90 people in two rooms (60 in the dining room, 30 in the youth room) and outdoor seating for 35 people.

It can be reached from the village center in approximately 20 minutes on foot, or by car via Kirchstrasse to the parking lot next to the lodge. To make the stay more pleasant for young families, a forest playground was opened in April 2000.

📝 The Buchwaldhütte is located in the middle of the forest – covered, quiet, and with a beautiful natural backdrop. Next door is a small parking lot, which is an excellent alternative starting and finishing point for the Potzberg circular trail. Those who start here will be directly in the countryside and will be on the trail in just a few steps.

💡 Tip: If you prefer a quieter setting, start here – less hustle and bustle than at the wildlife park, but more of a forest feeling right from the start.
