The Mound of Glory was erected in the places of fierce fighting during Operation Bagration in July 1944, known as the Minsk Cauldron. The nationwide construction began in 1967. This document was signed by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, Peter Masherov. And already in September 1966, a memorial plaque was laid on the site of the future Mound of Glory and a rally was held. It was attended not only by Minskers, but also by representatives of the hero cities. The rally participants adopted a mandate for future generations to honor the memory of the past war and be patriots of their fatherland. The text of the order was walled up in a special capsule at the base of the mound.
