    In 1946, the Lamberti community bought two organs from the master blacksmith Philipps in Algermissen, namely the organ built in 1754 for Wrisbergholzen and the one built in 1765 for the church in Rautenberg. Other pipes and organ parts were purchased, such as the front pipes decorated with faces and some gold-plated. They come from the St. Martini Church in Hildesheim, which was abandoned in 1857, and had since been sold to Hilter (Teutoburg Forest).
    The Hildesheim organ builder Ernst Palandt took on the task of putting these parts together to form an organ.
    Ernst Palandt wrote on the organ chair “Ao Di (anno Domini= in the year of the Lord) 1946 is sub (=under) Past(ore) Dr.M. Storch this organ was rebuilt by Mr. E. Palandt in memoriam aedificat (oris) organi et civis Novae urbis J.M. Naumann et eius magistri Arp Schnitger" (= in memory of the builder of the organ and citizen of Neustadt J.M. Naumann and his teacher Arp Schnitger."
    The work was completed in 1960. From 1992, the maintenance of the organ was in the hands of organ builder Franz Rietzsch, Hemmingen. He made the Principal 16', which was not yet connected, playable, installed a chest mechanism in the organ, and made the action easier to play.

        St. Jakobi is a single-nave sandstone hall church with a trapezoidal floor plan and a gable roof. The nave features exceptionally slender and tall Gothic windows. Located on Almsstraße, the church was built around the turn of the 16th century, as evidenced by a building inscription from 1503. A keystone in the ground floor hall of the tower bears the date 1510; the tower itself was completed in 1514 and had to be rebuilt in 1536 after the wind blew the spire down. Since the Reformation, the church has been one of the Protestant parish churches in the old town.
