    The elongated Wartgesberg probably consists of three large volcanic cinder cones, which, like pearls on a string, are lined up along a crevice running from north to south. The Sprinker Maar adjoins the southern end of the fissure.
    The volcanoes are so close together that they can no longer be distinguished as individual volcanoes.
    First the northern volcano erupted and the Strohn lava bomb was found in its crater wall. The Strohn lava fissure wall was discovered in the middle slag volcano. A section of the wall can be viewed in the Strohner Vulkanhaus. The wall is covered over and over with scraps of lava, which, still glowing, ran down the wall a little before solidifying.
    Subsequently, rising iron solutions colored the wall steel blue. The middle volcano first produced one of the two lava flows on which the village of Strohn lies today.
    The youngest cinder cone volcano erupted in the south, sending the longest lava flow in the Eifel towards the south with a length of 7 km. In Strohn Switzerland, the breakthrough valley of the river Alf, he can be seen on the valley slopes.
