Morenci offers most hiker services, including a motel, US Post Office, laundromat, full-size supermarket, a bar, Ace hardware (for stove fuel) and a few restaurants. It is easier to hitch here if you choose the Lower Eagle Creek Road Spur (Segment 14 of the Grand Enchantment Trail) than from the main route. You hitchhike on foot five miles into Morenci via low-speed Highway 1919, also known as Coronado Trail.

If you can manage another three to four miles, go to Clifton with its Historic Chase Street and a lot of relics from the old mining days including a huge mining shovel.
