The park is a green zone between the homes of Cotton Island and the Frans Vaart. It is accessible via the underpass under the Brusselsesteenweg and via the Edward Pynaertkaai. Since then mainly manufacture of rubber conveyor belts.
Converted into a garage for military trucks in 1918, so that the company had to be equipped and adapted again afterwards. From 1969 successively absorbed by foreign firms. Part of the Italian chain SAIAG since 1974. Currently specializing in rubber conveyor belts and other technical rubber articles.
Located on a triangular site between two waterways, the Keizervest and the Fransvaart, which severely limits the expansion possibilities of the company. The factory occupies almost an entire ravelin of the old city fortifications (1577-78) between the Keizerpoort and the St. Lievenspoort. One of the few remaining companies located near the city center on an approach road (Brusselsesteenweg).
An almost blind brick enclosure wall behind which two series of raekem roofs are hidden (n ⊥ street, red mechanical tiles). R. used to house the weaving mill. Central factory entrance with a straight passage to the Fransvaart which is the only open space between the company buildings. R. caretaker's house and l. management building. Dominant right. wing of four buildings. and nine trav. Long with flat roof.
Application of pilasters, brick and round arch friezes, wide recti. windows with iron bars under iron I-lintel with rosettes. Opposite the former boiler house with round brick chimney. Original machinery is said to have been partially preserved but in disuse.
