With the Bullayer "Brautrock" fountain, the citizens of the municipality of Bullay have erected a worthy monument to their large wine estate "Bullayer Brautrock". The fountain was built in 1990 by the well-known artist Scherl from Wittlich. It is particularly striking that the bride was made entirely of copper.
The well-known large-scale winery "Bullayer Brautrock" is based on a legend from days long past: In order to fill the count's coffers again, Count Beissel mortgaged his vineyard to pay for the bridal equipment, including the bridal skirt, for a knight's maiden that his son was to marry. As part of the ceremony, the bride's father gave the vineyard back and formulated a well-thought-out condition: the entire proceeds from this Brautrock vineyard would go to the daughter and serve as a support for her in the event that the count's son led a life as extravagant as his father, Count Beisel.
