The red rose "City Eltville" was introduced in 1990 by the breeder Hans Jürgen Evers and can be visited in the rose garden of the castle. The Japanese breeder Kazuzo Tagashira christened one of his breeds "Beautiful Eltville" in memory of a visit to the city.
