Under the name of Waldhauser Castle, the remains of a Roman manor house - villa rustica, are hidden, once perhaps the property of a wealthy councilor from the nearby Roman settlement near Köngen. Registered in the register of monuments of the state of Baden-Württemberg since October 1977, the ruins with the walls still up to 1.4 m high in the ground are the best-preserved Roman complex in the wider area.

PS: I admit that the term "preserved in the ground" copied from the information board is not exactly very informative 😇, but it was self-evident for me (after thousands of years there is no other way 😉).
A recent visit was commented on as follows:
"Unfortunately, you can't see anything anymore. Everything is overgrown and only a sign gives an idea of what a great building must have stood here!"
