The building of the Märkisches Museum, completed in 1908, is somewhat reminiscent of the St. Catherine's Church in Brandenburg an der Havel and part of the facade is actually based on the model. But the Märkisches Museum was never a church, but the first building in the world that was specifically designed as a city museum.
