As a hilltop made of red sandstone, the Christenberg is about 2 km (as the crow flies) east of Münchhausen, in the district of Mellnau, today a part of Wetter. At the top of the hill, at the site of the Celtic and later Franconian fortifications, stands the Martinskirche in the middle of a cemetery. There is also a tourist restaurant nearby. In the western vicinity of the peak, burial mounds were found, which could be the burial places of the settlements that used to be on the mountain. From the highest point of the Christenberg you can u. look to the cellar forest.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I can recommend the Christenberg to every MTB friend. Great trail great descent and if you just want to go for a ride with friends in the evening, there is a great restaurant on the Christenberg with good food and drinks and a great view
