Whoever goes behind the Celtic playground under the railway bridge to Mayr-Wirt-Insel can admire the English garden landscape from the "Himmelsleiter" over the Sempt. The "Himmelsleiter" is a staircase-shaped construction from the bank to over the water, which at the end offers a four meter high viewing platform over the river. The sky ladder is a bit off the beaten track, but in a heavenly oasis of calm.
The term "ladder to heaven" has biblical echoes: in the first book of the Bible (Genesis 28:11) Jacob, Esau's brother, sees a staircase in a dream vision. She stands on earth; its top reaches into the sky. Angels go up and down the ladder. Above is God, who promised Jacob that the promises that were once made to the ancestors will be fulfilled: land and descendants. The ladder to heaven stands for positive things, a bridge between heaven and earth, a connection between God and man.
It is not known whether these biblical roots were taken into account in Erding City Park. BUT: the view and the tranquility are heavenly. Even if the surrounding trees pretty much block the view in summer. :)
