The Tannegger Grat is a wonderful, rooty ridge path. I was absolutely thrilled with this trail. You should bring some surefootedness, as the many roots can get a bit slippery, especially when wet (corresponds to a T2 path, but is a ridge path, which will certainly not please everyone) The ridge path leads through the forest, but lets the rays of the sun through and in between also reveals small views.

The narrow Tannegger ridge leads from Niederwis to the Tannegg castle ruins. The path along the ridge is mainly held together by roots. This makes the route extremely slippery in wet conditions and not recommended. In fine weather, however, the ridge path is a pleasure and also pleasantly shady.
Signs warn that good sure-footedness and good shoes are required.
