The Hintersteiner See is a fantastically beautiful mountain lake in the middle of the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve with crystal clear water and a lido. The lake is 56 hectares and up to 36 meters deep, it is 883 m.

A beautiful path leads around the lake, which is asphalted from the parking lot to the Goingstätthof snack station to the west and is therefore also suitable for prams. The south bank rises slightly and offers fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser, which is reflected in the water. Popular photo motif!

Large parking lot available for a fee.

Even in winter, the circular route is a wonderful hike!
