The town hall, first mentioned in 1424, was built in its current form after the great city fire of 1724. In the Middle Ages it was called "meat and department store with general stores" as well as "department store with hall court". The three-storey gabled house shows the city arms and the arms of the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg and Bamberg Friedrich von Seinsheim, dated 1769. It was partially converted into a school building in 1883, refurbished in 1929 and used as a primary school until 1958. 1984 - 1987 it was completely renovated and again the town hall. The Hollfeld, Aufseß and Plankenfels administrative association has been based here since 1987.
Immediately next to it is the Wittauerhaus, which shows rare herringbone-like ceilings, half-timbered walls, stencil paintings and other special features inside the building. Today the music school, the forest service and the tourist information are housed here.

For centuries the cattle and fairgrounds, which were of great economic importance for Hollfeld and its surroundings, were held here. Even today, markets are regularly held on this square.

On Marienplatz stands next to a draw well of 1936 (first mentioned in 1435 as Beyerbrunnen, see its own highlight) and a statue of Mary, which was inaugurated on the Assumption in 1964. It is the scene of a large procession of lights with several thousand faithful that takes place every year on the 15th of August. It is held in gratitude for the salvation of Hollfeld at the end of the Second World War.

Archbishop Ludwig Schick, the chief shepherd of Bamberg, does not miss the opportunity to personally attend the annual procession. Together with numerous priests, representatives from politics and economy, the city church and parish councils, an atmospheric celebration takes place with the participation of two brass bands, the tower wind and the church choir, which attracts visitors from near and far far beyond the city limits of Hollfeld. The houses on Marienplatz and Marienplatz itself, as well as the houses along the path of the lights procession, are decorated with lights atmospheric.
