Just like the other 13 urban market halls of Berlin, the Arminiusmarkthalle was built in the late 19th century. At that time the magistrate tried to enforce better hygiene regulations and a uniform food supply of the population through the market halls. In the Arminiushalle you can therefore still today from Monday to Saturday fresh fruit and vegetables, meat products, cheese, bread and much more shopping. Nice that the 10th Berlin market hall from 1891 is still preserved. It was revitalized like so many other market halls. However, there is not the typical market hall flair as we know it from southern Europe. It's more like a food temple. Also good: at least the buildings are still preserved.
