Located on the edge of the Arcachon basin, the Pilat dune is an exceptional natural phenomenon. It measures approximately 500 meters wide, 2.7 kilometers long and reaches an impressive height of 110 meters, making it the largest sand dune in Europe.

This dune is a breathtaking spectacle, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Landes forest on the other. Its fine, golden sand is constantly reshaped by wind and tides, creating an ever-changing landscape.

The Pilat Dune not only attracts more than a million visitors per year, but it is also an important ecological site, with diverse species of plants and animals.
