        The way through Dammer Switzerland to this wooden observation tower with its 116 steps is worthwhile (if I didn't make a mistake) - not only with the MTB, although a good circuit doesn't hurt. Already destroyed once, it is fortunate that the tower with its impressive height of 20 meters has been revived through a private initiative. The view at treetop height is great, even if I could now imagine 5 meters more. But you know: higher - faster - further ... In any case, you don't just look down to the dumber. The view over the southern district of Vechta is wonderful in all directions. At the foot of the tower there is another highlight, the sculpture path with its funny steel figures.                                                 The Mordkuhlenberg in the middle of the Dammer Mountains is 141.60 meters high. It owes its name to a legendary robber story, about which the Dammer writer Bernd Kessens wrote a play. From the observation tower of the Mordkuhlenberg, which is 20 meters high, you can see as far as the northern edges of the low mountain ranges and far into the North German Plain in clear weather.

                                                Sculptures of the robbers from the Mordkuhlenberg, their victim Anna Maria Wieferich and the authorities who finally arrested the robbers have been standing on the access road to the observation tower since 2013.
