      Schloss Badinghagen is a moated castle, which stands close to the border to the Bergisches Land south of Meinerzhagen and was modernized in 1902. His powers are fed by the Agger. The castle is used privately and can only be visited from the outside.

      In the Werden Provostiregister the castle was first mentioned in 1160 as a fief. In the possession of the Badinghagens it is proven since the year 1363. After extinction of the family it went in 1509 over Friedrich von Karthausen by sale in 1642 to Friedrich von Neuhoff. Three generations later, Conrad Caspar von Nagel, a son of the heiress, owned the Schloss Badinghagen.

      Today's site, which has since been rebuilt several times, has only roughly the same layout as the previous building, which had the married couple Engelbert von Neuhoff and Anna Margarethe von Scheid built around the middle of the 17th century. Above the massive ground floor pedestal rises a half-timbered upper floor with clapboard cladding. Owner of Badinghagen is the family Dresler from Kreuztal.
