On the first stage of the Westweg, the Schwanner Warte on the northern edge of the Black Forest, after the Neuenburger Castle, with its panoramic view is one of the few highlights before Dobel. Taking a break is therefore a must. From here you have a beautiful view over the hilly landscape with meadows and fields north of the Black Forest.

Because at the Schwanner Warte - a lookout tower of the Black Forest Association - you have a wide view over the mountains to the Rhine plain, the Vosges and the Palatinate Forest. The eye can go on a "journey of discovery" here: In good weather, you can even see the Speyer Imperial Cathedral.
