One of the most famous symbols of the Vulkaneifel at 535 meters above sea level. The gratitude of the builders was the reason for this cross, which can be seen from afar. The Schalkenmehrener Maar is located about 5 kilometers from Daun and is one of the three Dauner Maaren. It is a Doppelmaar and consists of the western Maarsee and the Trockenmaar in the east.
