The Holy Spirit Church once served as a miners' church for the Prettau copper mine workers and as a shelter for travelers who hiked over the Krimmler Tauern to Pinzgau or Salzburg. It is not clear when exactly the little church was built. According to a legend, a ringing bell was once heard in the ground at this exact spot. After digging for it, an image of the Holy Spirit was discovered. This was removed from this place, but it was always found behind the stone that protects the little church today. So it was decided to build a chapel here, which - of course - is dedicated to the Holy Spirit.
