The "Rothenbachteich" is of particular and national importance for the bird world. Many bird species find suitable retreats for their brood business here, others visit the area as a resting place on their annual flight to summer and winter quarters. The riparian vegetation of the pond is also home to some rare dragonflies and amphibians.
