The Chemnitz hut in South Tyrol, also known as the Nevesjoch hut, is located in the southern Zillertal Alps above the Neves reservoir (1,860 m). Talort is Lappach (1,436 m) at the end of the valley of the Mühlwalder valley, which rises from Sand in Taufers to the west.

The region is ideal for hiking, skiing and glacier tours such as the Großen Möseler (3,479 m) or the Turnerkamp (3,418 m). In addition, the hut is a popular destination for mountain bikers. The Höhenweg Kellerbauerweg leads in 5 hours to the Speikboden Sonnklar. The Stabelerweg to the Schwarzensteinhütte (7 h) and the Neveser Höhenweg to the Edelrauthhütte (3:30 h).

If the weather cooperates and you have enough time scheduled you can continue from the Chemnitz hut to Edelrauthütte and from there back to the Neves reservoir. Unfortunately, we did not have that and had to turn back because of snow.
