      According to a document, Harmen Schulte, Burgmann on Horneburg, is said to have built a corn mill on the Kuhbach as early as 1455. The location was very favourable, since a natural step in the terrain made it possible to operate an overshot water wheel, which is considered to be particularly efficient.
      The mill received its water from a nearby reservoir that was fed by the Kuhbach. Towards the end of the 1960s, the mill operation became unprofitable and had to be closed.
      An architect's office is set up in the former mill building. The name of the charming restaurant “Zur Klostermühle”, which is located next to the mill under tall chestnut trees at the mill pond, points to the origin of the mill.
