From the 12th century, Nideggen and its castle were the residence of the Counts of Jülich. Nideggen offers visitors an interesting piece of history and is at the same time a modern place to live and live. The attractiveness is characterized by the lovingly maintained, historic town center and Nideggen Castle. Two well-preserved city gates with the city wall made of red sandstone dominate the silhouette and allow the visitor to feel the touch of the past. Anyone who is not afraid of climbing to the castle will be rewarded with an impressive view of the Rur valley.
