The wooden chapel Ralswiek is a small Protestant church building in Ralswiek on Rügen. It is one of the churches of the Protestant parish Schaprode, which belongs to the provost of Stralsund of the Pomeranian Evangelical parish.
The small church is built entirely of wood in a style commonly used in Sweden and represents an architectural peculiarity for Rügen.
At the end of the 19th century, Hugo Sholto Count von Douglas from Aschersleben had acquired the estate Ralswiek and extensively rebuilt it. After the construction of several houses, a school and the streets of the town, the intention was to build a church in Ralswiek as well. At an exhibition in Stockholm, the Count saw the wooden chapel there as a model church. Douglas acquired the church in 1907, had it dismantled and brought across the Baltic Sea to Ralswiek. Here it was rebuilt at its current location and consecrated in 1907.
Above the entrance to the church is the motto Love never stops reading.
Today, the chapel also serves organ concerts.
In addition to the chapel was until 2007, built in half-timbered clay construction, belonging to the chapel about 200 years old sexton house. This year, the building, which was also locally known as the "witch house" because of its primeval appearance, fell victim to an arson.
