Geißwand and Baalstein offer a wonderful view over the Traunsee, which can usually be enjoyed in complete solitude and silence.
The two viewing pulpits of Geißwand and Baalstein rise exactly above Traunkrichen - through the base of which a tunnel was built that has been bypassing the center of Traunkirchen since the 1990s.
Both summits offer easy climbing ropes in the summit area and a magnificent view of the Traunstein - Schönberg - Erlakogel panorama on the east bank of Lake Traunsee, Traunkirchen, Atlmünster and Gmunden on the west and north banks.

If you want to avoid the crowds that sometimes storm the Kleiner Sonnstein and also like to carry your own snack up the mountain, you've come to the right place.
