Monschau Castle sits picturesquely above the town of the same name, on a spur in a bend of the Rur River. Monschau, located south of Aachen in the Eifel, offers the visitor not only the castle, but also within the town many historic buildings and remains of a city wall.
Worth seeing is also the rock cellar with beer museum. The place is not only known in the region, which of course has the consequence that one has to expect on weekends in fine weather with numerous visitors.
