            "The dam wall made of quarry stones is the main attraction of the Möhnesee and is already over 100 years old.

The Möhne dam is the second largest dam in the Ruhr catchment area and therefore one of the most important in terms of water management. With normal storage, the storage capacity is 134.5 million m³ of water with a storage surface of 10.37 km².

              Thousands of workers, including many Italian construction workers, began building the Möhne Dam in 1909, which was led by the hydraulic engineer Ernst Link.
