    The roads to the Passo delle Erbe are a joy to ride from both Villnöß and Lüsen. They are generally quiet (especially from Lüsen) and generally have a good surface for a fast descent. From the Passo delle Erbe, you have beautiful views of the Peiterkofel and the Italian Dolomites. There are also plenty of opportunities to refill your water bottles and provisions up here.

    If you're planning a loop, I recommend not choosing the descent via Lüsen, as the asphalt is poorer there and, even in dry weather, is often wet with small streams. The route also often crosses wooden bridges, which overall diminishes the enjoyment of a fast road bike descent. However, this isn't a problem on the ascent.

      A less mentioned step than others, but truly beautiful. I took it from the San Martino in Badia side, the climb is long and proceeds with "jerky" slopes, interspersed with a couple of km downhill and then becomes more steep in the last 6 km, where the road takes on the typical characteristics of a mountain climb, a narrow road and many hairpin bends. But when you get to the top on the esplanade, and you get intoxicated by that air and that view...what a spectacle!

        Moderate ascent with great views of the Ötztal Alps. The Geislerspitzen and the Peitlerkofel also come into view. The road surface is very good and the traffic is mostly limited. So you can fully enjoy the ascent to the almost 2,000 meter high Würzjoch. 1,750 meters in altitude await you on the 30-kilometer ascent from Brixen, rarely steeper than 10 percent. In between, the ascent is interrupted by a few easy, short descents. And as befits a decent mountain pass, there are also a few switchbacks built into the mountain flanks.
