A Porta Nigra é o portão da cidade romana mais bem preservado ao norte dos Alpes – uma conexão incomparável entre o passado antigo e a cidade moderna de hoje. O antigo portão da cidade data de 170 d.C., quando os romanos gostavam de construir edifícios públicos com grandes blocos.
