Schloss Seggau is more than a castle: like a small town, it lies on a gentle hill in the middle of the southern Styrian wine region. Hotel Schloss Seggau has been known as a destination for decades. Probably the most impressive rooms in the palace are the princely rooms. The bishop's wine cellar, which is over 300 years old, is one of the oldest and largest in the country.

The Seggau Castle is located on a forested hill above the city of Leibnitz and offers a wide view of the Sulm Valley and across the Mur plain to Slovenia. Parts of the complex were used by the Salzburg archbishops in the 12th century as a mission and administrative station for the colonization of Styria. Today you will find a modern congress and seminar center, a hotel, a 300-year-old wine cellar and a castle tavern in the Seggau Castle.
