      The planet path begins at the YMCA home in Bobengrün, where there are also parking spaces. The total length is just under 3km, runs flat and is accessible all year round. The aim of the path is to illustrate the distance and size relationships between the sun and the planets.

      For this purpose, the individual planets are arranged on the way according to their scaled-down distance from the sun, so that Mercury is already 38 meters behind the sun, the last planet (Neptune) after 2935 meters. Each planet is represented by a pillar - even illuminated at night - with a sphere, the size of which is shown to scale at the beginning of the path to the sun disk.

      The path itself is completely asphalted, initially in the middle of Bobengrün, later on side streets to the Gerlaser Forsthaus. A route on one of the many hiking trails in the region would have been nicer here, but it is quite impressive to "hike" the proportions in our solar system.
