The church impresses from the outside mainly by the "patterned" roof. The cemetery offers nothing spectacular, but is very well equipped with trees and shrubs. If you start a hike from Kittlitz, you should go at least here.

The Kittlitz church in its current form was built in the 18th century and replaced an old, dilapidated church at that time.
The plans for the new church go back to the two patrons at the time, Heinrich Adolf von Gersdorff and Karl Gotthelf Freiherr von Hundt and Alten-Grottkau. In 1749, they commissioned the future city building director of Zittau, Andreas Hünigen, with a new building.

The foundation stone was laid on June 3, 1749. The building itself took place in two phases. First, the chancel was built, which adjoined the old church directly to the east. At that time the old church was still used for services. From 1751 the service was moved to the newly built part and the old church was demolished and rebuilt by 1755.

The Seven Years' War made the construction project more difficult and so the interior of the church was not completed until 1763. The church tower then took on its current shape. Finally, on September 28, 1775, after 26 years of building history, the Kittlitz church was inaugurated in a festive service.

In the course of time, the church has repeatedly undergone improvements and renovations. A Bärmig organ was installed in 1859 and is still in use today.
