Hiking Highlight (Segment)
On the way up into the mountains we follow the tracks Cal of Linnaeus, a well-known Swedish naturalist who undertook here in the summer of 1734 his reconnaissance trip through the province of Dalarna. Shortly after reaching the tree line, we pass a reindeer fence, which separates the Norwegian and Swedish reindeer herding. A few meters further on, a nondescript sign announces that we are now on Norwegian territory. No trace of border controls. After a short climb we can overlook the surrounding fells and the valley of Grövelsjön. Carl von Linné was certainly equally impressed.
